Why This Matters

Millions of Californians rely on therapeutic hemp products for seizure management, pain management, daily functioning, independence, and quality of life. For many families, these products were not the first option, they were the option that worked when everything else failed.

Recent changes in California law have eliminated access to these products, creating what many families fear is a public health crisis in the making. Californians living with chronic illnesses and disabilities are worried about losing products they depend on every day.

What We're Asking Governor Newsom to Do

We support the Emergency Provision proposed by the Coalition for Access Now, which would:

  • Preserve access to non-intoxicating therapeutic hemp products while long-term solutions are developed
  • Provide immediate emergency relief and enforcement discretion
  • Maintain strong consumer protections, testing, labeling, and youth safeguards
  • Distinguish therapeutic hemp products from intoxicating marijuana and intoxicating hemp products
